Discussions focus on Sustainability, clean energy, responsible sourcing and Bangladesh’s post-LDC transition

Mr. Steven Collet, Vice-Minister for International Cooperation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and Ms. Wampie Libon, Ambassador for Sustainable Development, today visited 4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd, the flagship outerwear manufacturing facility of TEAM Group. They were accompanied by H.E. Joris van Bommel, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Bangladesh. Mr. Helal Hussain, Country Director Swisscontact Bangladesh, Mr. Selim Reza Hasan, Country Manager, Solidaridad Network Bangladesh, Mr. Bablur Rahman, Country Manager Bangladesh, Fair Wear Foundation, Mr. Muyeed Hasan, Country Manager AWARE, Bangladesh.

The delegation was welcomed by Ms. Afroza Shahin, Managing Director, TEAM, Mr. Abdullah Hil Nakib, Deputy Managing Director TEAM. and the senior management of 4A Yarn Dyeing Ltd.. During the factory tour, they saw the facility’s rooftop solar plant, rainwater harvesting system, fair price shop, childcare facility and production floor. 4A Yarn Dyeing is LEED Platinum certified and was the first outerwear manufacturer to sign the UN Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action. After the factory tour they saw a presentation on the TEAM Group’s sustainability strategy and practices and engaged into a strategic discussion.
