Young Americans and the growing debate over Sharia law and constitutional values

From the report
New polling has sparked a debate over the attitudes of young Americans toward Sharia law, with the findings suggesting that younger voters are significantly more receptive to the Islamic legal system than older generations. The results have raised questions about how well young Americans understand the US Constitution and whether political ideas surrounding oppression and marginalization are influencing their views on religious and legal issues.
A series of polls conducted by Our Republic and Rasmussen found that support for Sharia is considerably stronger among younger voters than among the electorate as a whole. According to the Our Republic survey, 21 percent of likely voters said they held a mostly or somewhat positive view of Sharia, while 57 percent expressed a negative opinion.
Among younger respondents, however, positive views were substantially higher. Forty-three percent of voters between the ages of 18 and 24 said they had a positive opinion of Sharia, compared with 39 percent of those between 25 and 29.
