New journal examines global human rights abuses, conflict and the cost of international indifference

সূত্র: Blitz / আন্তর্জাতিক

From the report

A new issue of the Journal for Humanitarian Conflict Resolution has brought together eight contributors examining some of the world’s most pressing humanitarian crises, including the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza, restrictions on Afghan women under Taliban rule, Kurdish displacement, child trafficking, child marriage, and the persistent failure of international institutions to translate awareness of human rights violations into meaningful action.

The second issue of the journal, published by the Institute for Humanitarian Conflict Resolution (IHCR), brings together academics, human rights advocates, humanitarian professionals, and regional specialists to examine the consequences of armed conflicts, political repression, gender-based discrimination, and institutional indifference.

Professor Alon Ben-Meir, founder of the Institute and one of the journal’s contributors, has urged editors and publishers to give the publication wider international attention, arguing that human rights violations persist partly because too few people know about them and those responsible frequently escape accountability.
