Spain has overtaken Germany as Bangladesh’s largest EU market for apparel

In July to September of FY2026-27, Bangladesh shipped $1,148.46 million of RMG to Spain and $1,122.98 million to Germany. A year earlier the order was reversed, with Germany at $1,124.70 million and Spain at $1,009.84 million.

Total RMG exports to the EU rose 3.33% in the first quarter, from $4,746.10 million to $4,904.02 million, an increase of $157.92 million. Spain accounted for $138.62 million of that, about 88% of the net gain. September alone showed stronger growth, up 5.53% to $1,410.11 million.
