Australian firms eye Bangladesh’s renewable energy market

· Bangladesh

Australian renewable energy companies are eyeing business opportunities and potential partnerships in Bangladesh to expand cooperation in clean energy technologies, battery energy storage and decarbonisation amid the country’s energy crisis and challenges in securing fossil fuels.

Speaking at a seminar titled ‘Renewable Energy, Decarbonisation and Energy Transition’ at a hotel in Dhaka on Monday, Australian Trade and Investment Commissioner for South Asia Murray Spence said Bangladesh offered opportunities for Australian clean energy companies.

‘We have the technology, system know-how and experience that Bangladesh can benefit from,’ he said, adding that Australian companies could work with Bangladeshi firms through licensing agreements, joint ventures and other commercial arrangements.
