Rooppur Enters Stage C of Power Generation Start-Up

Following regulatory approval, activities under Power Start-Up Stage C have officially commenced at Unit 1 of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant.

This marks a significant milestone in the commissioning of Unit 1 of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant. On October 29, the Chairman of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority (BAERA) granted approval to the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission and Nuclear Power Plant Company Bangladesh Limited to begin Power Start-Up Stage C.

According to a press release, at this stage, the reactor’s power level will be gradually increased to test and verify the performance and integrated operation of various plant systems. These include the reactor, primary and secondary systems, turbine-generator, electrical systems, instrumentation and control, reactor protection, and safety systems, along with other key systems.
