Electricity from Rooppur to Be Supplied to National Grid Soon: Fakir–Alexey Meeting

Trial electricity supply to the national grid from the first unit of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant is expected to begin as soon as possible. Commissioning and initial start-up activities for the second unit are scheduled to begin next year.

A bilateral meeting was held in Moscow, Russia, on Friday between Bangladesh’s Minister for Science and Technology, Fakir Mahbub Anam, and Alexey Likhachev, Director General of Russia’s state-owned nuclear energy corporation Rosatom.

The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
